Reflexology is a very easy treatment to receive; at most you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks

At your first appointment, a full medical history will be taken and you will be asked to sign a consent form agreeing to the treatment. You will be seated on a reclining chair or couch and I will apply hot flannels to your feet to freshen them up before applying some wax or balm to assist with the movement of my hands over your feet. I will then use my thumbs, fingers or knuckles to apply pressure to the feet and some of the lower leg. Sometimes, you may be aware that I have 'stopped' and am only applying the lightest of touch to one or two points. This a technique known as linking and can often be very powerful; tuning into the body's energies even though I am only applying a very delicate touch. Some areas of the feet may feel tender or bruised when pressed but this feeling will pass and the general experience should be relaxing. If you are uncomfortable at any time during the treatment then please let me know so that I can adjust my pressure.
At the end of the treatment, we will discuss the outcomes. Any tenderness you may have felt may indicate imbalances and by working on these areas at this or subsequent treatments, the imbalance may be unblocked to aid the free flow of energy in the body restoring its natural balance. The full benefits of reflexology may only materialise after a few treatments; especially if you have been suffering with a problem for some time. I can discuss this with you at the time to decide on the best treatment plan for you.
Please note: Reflexology should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice.
The Treatment Environment
I work from home in a comfortable, inviting environment where you can find peace and tranquillity within our busy world.
I live about 2 miles from the centre of Cheltenham in Hatherley. There is on street parking or a small car park over the road by the shops. I am also on the 97/98 bus route from Cheltenham to Gloucester and the D bus from the railway station to Bishops Cleeve. See Google map
After the Treatment
After one or two treatments, most people feel an improved sense of wellbeing and experience a feeling of deep relaxation.
Occasionally, people report experiencing a mild headache, feeling tired or needing to go to the toilet more often following their treatment. These are normal reactions and should pass within 24-48 hours. This is all part of the healing process whilst the body is re balancing itself. It is important to make a note of these reactions and any healing benefits you may experience, and advise me at the next treatment so we can discuss your future treatment plan and make any adjustments if necessary.
